One such tradition is the custom of guests standing as the bride makes her grand entrance. While this gesture is rooted in respect and admiration, it is time for a change, so I request the guests to remain seated for the entrance of the bride.

Why do I do this? Because it creates an inclusive, and picture-perfect experience for all of your wedding guests. And because I have a strong belief that encouraging guests to remain seated is a fresh, thoughtful approach that respects tradition while embracing inclusivity and modern sensibilities.

Inclusivity matters

 The
An often over-looked aspect of having an inclusive wedding, is ensuring that everyone present can participate fully in the wedding experience. An inclusive wedding is a testament to your commitment to make everyone feel valued and welcome.

Asking the guests to remain seated during the bride's entrance discreetly acknowledges that, due to physical challenges that may or may not be visible to other, not everyone can easily stand. And also that standing may not guarantee a good view, depending on differences in height and body size that might obscure the view of shorter people.

Asking guests to remain seated is, therefore, a simple act of consideration that ensures that every guest can enjoy a front-row experience.

Picture Perfect

 The
All wedding ceremonies are a collection of unforgettable moments, moments which your photographer and your videographer have been hired to capture. Lines of sight are crucial, and standing guests can so easily get in the way, compromising the final result. An unobstructed view, on the other hand, ensures that every magical moment of the bride's entrance and the reaction of everyone, including her soon-to-be spouse, is caught in stunning detail.

The Grand Entrance

 The
The bridal processional, the entrance of the bride is a highlight that sets the tone for the entire ceremony. When guests remain seated, the bride naturally stands out, head and shoulders above the crowd. This vantage point ensures that even those at the front, including the parents and closest family members, have an unobstructed view of the bride and the entire wedding party. The bride’s entrance becomes a shared experience.
